SNOW

This beauty has so much soul!

On a recent visit to the Bakersfield shelter we pulled a little white dog we named Snow. The Bakersfield shelter is very crowed and has a high euthanasia rate. What we did not know when we pulled this beautiful dog is that she was about to give birth.  We have a special place in our heart for mother dogs at The Rescue Train. Snow has been one of the best mother dogs we have ever seen! The last of Snow's puppies have just gone home and now it's her turn to find love.

Snow  is a 25 pound cattle dog/ Eskimo mix and is under the age of two. We can say that after a decade of rescue work we can easily say she is one of the most soulful special dogs we have ever rescued.  She's a real people dog. She just can't love you enough. Her hobbies include giving kisses, staring into your eyes lovingly and sitting loyally by your side. She just finished ten days of obedience training and knows many commands. She is fearful and defensive around other dogs probably due to some trauma in her past. Her litter of puppies was a large breed for her small body. Our dog trainer feels that she needs to be the only dog in the home. Can you open your heart and home to Snow?  In return you will get a life time of devotion and unconditional love.

JELLYBEAN

Meet Sweet!

Jelly Bean and her litter mates were abandoned and a Good Samaritan brought them to a vet's office. They are now safe on The Rescue Train. She is now is seven months old and ready to play and have SOME FUN! Jellybean has a wonderful look about her. Her mother was a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix and we never saw her father but obviously he had some fuzz going on (probably a wired haired terrier)! She will grow to be 15-20 lbs. Jellybean is a happy pup who's is ready to bond with her new person. She's got a good amount of energy and needs an owner that wants to interact with her. She LOVES LOVES LOVES toys!

Jellybean has had some obedience training and her new owner will get a lesson with her dog trainer to learn what she has learned. We are looking for an adopter who loves dogs and wants to make Jellybean an important part of their life and a priority. Someone who will be interested in her training and her potential to learn more.

Jellybean hasn't experienced much in the world and she needs an adopter who's willing to go slow with her and introduce her to new things. For that same reason we are looking for a home with experienced with dogs preferred, no children under the age of twelve. Like most puppies at this age she needs attention and stimulation and will do best with an adopter who is home more often than not.

She gets along well with other dogs although we would prefer to match her with a dog her size. She did ok in her cat test but the cats were a little put off by her energy level.

This highly adoptable girl is spayed, micro chipped, current on all vaccinations and crate trained. Jellybean is a special dog whether you are adding to your canine family or want that special one to one experience; you will find it in this beautiful sweet girl. Open up your heart and home and in return Jellybean will fill your life with all the loyalty and unconditional love that only a wonderful dog like this can give.

AMERICA

Made In America!

America's story starts out sad. Her owner wanted to dock her tail but didn't' want to pay the vet bill so did it himself. How people can do such things is beyond comprehension. Her tail got infected and by the time she made it to The Rescue Train she needed surgery. During her stay she became a favorite of the vet staff and Animal Medical Center. She is now completely healed and on her way to a happy ending! What amazes us about Amei (her nickname) is how sweet and loving she is after going through that hard start in life. Her resilience and ability to forgive will make your heart melt. She's great with people. She is just over a year old and is a recent graduate from our "Trained For Life" dog training program (to learn more about this program please visit www.TheRescueTrain.org. We are one of the few rescue groups in the country that have this dog training program). She knows many commands and we are looking for an owner who has the time and interest to continue her obedience training. She is a funny girl that makes us laugh. She require exercise and stimulation but also has the ability to cuddle up and chill out for some snuggling. She loves to play and do fun stuff! She is good with other dogs. America is crate trained, spayed, vaccinated & microchipped. If you have questions about our adoption procedure or donation please visit www.TheRescueTrain.org and click on "Adopt A Dog". Can you open your heart and home to America? In return you will get a life time of devotion and unconditional love!
