SNOW

This beauty has so much soul!

On a recent visit to the Bakersfield shelter we pulled a little white dog we named Snow. The Bakersfield shelter is very crowed and has a high euthanasia rate. What we did not know when we pulled this beautiful dog is that she was about to give birth.  We have a special place in our heart for mother dogs at The Rescue Train. Snow has been one of the best mother dogs we have ever seen! The last of Snow's puppies have just gone home and now it's her turn to find love.

Snow  is a 25 pound cattle dog/ Eskimo mix and is under the age of two. We can say that after a decade of rescue work we can easily say she is one of the most soulful special dogs we have ever rescued.  She's a real people dog. She just can't love you enough. Her hobbies include giving kisses, staring into your eyes lovingly and sitting loyally by your side. She just finished ten days of obedience training and knows many commands. She is fearful and defensive around other dogs probably due to some trauma in her past. Her litter of puppies was a large breed for her small body. Our dog trainer feels that she needs to be the only dog in the home. Can you open your heart and home to Snow?  In return you will get a life time of devotion and unconditional love.

TOOTSIE

Hello Tootsie

Tootsie and her four newborn puppies were dropped of at a vet's office. They were in a toy box and Tootsie had a rope around her neck. Apparently they had been saved from a horrific ending at the city dump. How people can do such things is beyond comprehension. This darling little dog and her puppies couldn't be any sweeter or more loveable not to mention ADORABLE! Tootsie is a Dashchund/Chihuahua mix and is just a puppy herself (a little over a year old). Her puppies are have just been weaned and she's ready to find her forever home. She is playful and funny. She got her name as she was rescued around Halloween and her favorite toy the day we photographed her was a toy Tootsie Roll. She is a little shy until she feel safe as the world has been scary up until this point. That being said she has a gentle happy soul. She needs someone to spend time with her that is home more often than not. Tootsie is learning some basic obedience commands. She is crate trained and will be vaccinated, micro chipped and spayed prior to adoption. If you have questions about our adoption procedure or donation please visit www.TheRescueTrain.org and click on "Adopt A Dog". Can you open your heart and home to Tootsie? In return you will get a life time of devotion and unconditional love!

BESSIE

Her eyes are the window to her soul.

Bessie is the kind of dog that you can just look into her eyes and see her beautiful soul. She & her friend came into the Pasadena Humane Society as a strays. She was very bonded with her friend (a male aussie shepherd about her age) and he was quickly adopted from the shelter leaving Bessie behind. Bessie fell into a depression. Now she had lost the one thing she had. Everyone's heart ached for Bessie. Bessie was just saved by our rescue group and we are committed to finding her a loving home and showing her the world can be a kind place. She is a 7 yr-old 70 pound Husky/Shepherd mix who is friendly and fun. At the shelter where she had time to bond with the volunteers and won many of their hearts becoming a shelter favorite. She is good walking on her leash. She loves going to the play yard and exploring, but she also likes to check in with her handler for petting. Once you've spent a little bit of time with this girl, she comes right up to you for petting. We feel that Bessie would do well with another calm, older dog, but youngsters might be too much energy for her. She could also do well as the only dog in the household. She would love a yard to romp in and lay in the sun. We are crate training her and she is spayed, vaccinated & microchipped. If you have questions about our adoption procedure or donation please visit www.TheRescueTrain.org and click on "Adopt A Dog". Can you open your heart and home to sweet Bessie? In return you will get a life time of devotion and unconditional love!
